v0.016: sprite sheets
I have implemented a new sprite rendering system for the potato monsters which allows me to automatically pack all of their frames into a single 8-bit indexed PNG. This is in preparation for making all of their stagger and death animations, of which there will be 18 total. Once I've completed them, you will be able to knock the monsters down in different ways depending on where you shoot them. I am going to be spending a lot of time in Blender for the next several weeks.
I have deuteranopia (red-green colorblindness), which means things like potatoes, peanut butter, and wood are all the same color to my eyes. It's why I use bright colors in my game's art. As a developer, I have to use the eyedropper tool to see if things are the correct hue, and even then I sometimes get it wrong. Anyway, I have adjusted the colors of the monsters and their starchy gibs to hopefully look more 'potatoey.'
The resolution of the monster sprites has increased slightly (from 85 to 96) and their colors have changed slightly. Otherwise, the game has not changed.
My associate has been continuing to experiment with the game's music. I can't make any promises about when that will come, but it will be dynamic music that changes based on the combat intensity of the moment.
Thank you all for playing my game and please tell your friends about it.
